My name is Divya and my family consists of my father, mother and younger sister. My father had brought us to Dehradun since childhood with the hope that his daughters would study in a good school and be well-raised. Since my childhood, my mother and my father have worked hard. My father has a private job and my mother used to work as a domestic help in houses so that I didn't lack anything.
Then came the 2nd phase of life, my parents got me admitted to a boarding school. I was away from my parents and had to do all the work myself. I missed my home but "whatever happens, happens for the good". It was in my childhood to adjust and take responsibility in life. Slowly I started building my confidence. I started giving speeches in school and my photos were printed in the newspaper twice. Most of all my mother was happy because the society used to always tell her what will you do with two girls? Then came the changing point in my life. When I was in Class 11th my health started to deteriorate and I used to get admitted every other month. This lowered my confidence and I started getting tense.
I completed my school, however, I was now worried about my future as I was unable to afford the fees for the course I wanted to pursue as my sister was also studying and my parents who worked hard day and night had taken a loan to build a house and had to pay for it too. Then I came to know about Dor Foundation in my school. I met Sanyogita ma'am and told her all my problems. She quickly took me under her wings and helped me get admission in the course of my choice.
